National Workers Training Fund

One way the Wesleyan Church seeks to develop national leadership is by offering financial assistance to qualified national leaders so that they are able to pursue advanced education programs. Some do this in overseas institutions, while others study in America. The TOOL (Training Of Overseas Leaders) Scholarship Fund awards over $100,000 annually to international Wesleyan leaders.

The Houghton church contributes to this fund each year through our Partners Beyond budget. We have supported TOOL Alumni Alfred Kalembo and Sam Kargbo, both of whom are now giving leadership training to fellow Christians. Kalembo teachers at Theological College of Central Africa in Zambia and serves the Zambian Wesleyan Church in other capacities. Sam Kargbo graduated in June, 2003, and is teaching at Nbendembu Bible College in Sierra Leone.

Pray for 1) Alfred Kalembo and Sam Kargbo as they teach pastors and church leaders; 2) representative current TOOL students Milan Remez of the Czech Republic and Warren Fornah of Sierra Leone.
